11 November 2024

Hands-on satellite workshop on Enzyme Modeling and Substrate Docking. This workshop was led by NewCat scientists Artur Góra (POLSL), Tomasz Borowski (IKIFP PAN), Gamze Tanriver (POLSL), and Agata Raczyńska (POLSL), with organizational support from Lukas Rieder (TU Graz).


12-14 November 2024

NewCat team members were participating in The European Summit of Industrial Biotechnology (esib, https://www.esib.at), organized by the Austrian Center of Industrial Biotechnology (ACIB) which took place in Graz from November 12 to 14, 2024.

From the 24th to the 27th of March 2024 Andrea K. Hönikl, Lukas Rieder and Anton Glieder of the TUG NewCat research team attended, together with other researchers of the Glieder-Group, the Pichia 2024 conference in San Diego, CA, USA.


7 February 2024

On the 7th of February 2024, Lukas Rieder of the TUG NewCat research team was invited to give a lecture on the topic: “Recombinant production of Lytic Polysaccharide MonoOxygenases using Pichia pastoris” at the 1st UNITE! International Workshop for Young Researchers on Renewable Biotechnology organized by the Graz University of Technology. We thank the organizers for the opportunity to present our NewCat research at this great event!

Open day at ICSP PAS!


29 October 2023

On the 29th of September 2023 Open Day at ICSP PAS took place.
Hundreds of high school students visited the institute to listen to
lectures and watch experimental demonstrations. The event was a great opportunity to inform the students about the research
institute’s research regarding the NewCat project.

Vanessa Holzschuster, Aline Rindler, Andrea K. Hönikl, Lukas Rieder and Anton Glieder attended RPP11 conference in Girona, Spain presenting their research!


27 September 2023

Lukas Rieder presented New-Cat project at the third science day „TU Graz – Science for Future„.

An unique location in Bad Blumau, Austria was a host place for New-Cat kick off meeting. It was a great meeting of all team members with excellent discussions and brain-storming sessions.
